Overview

Dining Service Attendants (DSA) will be working between the Main Dining Room and Lido Restaurant as determined by management to support the operation.

In the Main Dining Room the DSA will support the operation by greeting guests with a warm smile, escorting guests to their tables, running food from the galley to waiter stations, resetting tables, and delivering orders for In Room Dining.

 

The Lido Market is one of our busiest restaurants for all meal periods on board our ships. There are several buffet style food stations for our guess to choose from. In the Lido Market the DSA plays in important role in creating a memorable dining experience for our guests. The main responsibilities are greeting each guest with a warm smile and genuine greeting, serving coffee, water and beverages tableside, talking with guests, and maintaining and resetting a specific section of the Lido Market.

 

Dining Service Attendant is an entry level position with a lot of opportunity for our high performing staff to move up quickly into other positions on board.

 

 

NOTE: This job position is open only for Thai Nationality at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Is committed to exceeding guest expectations.
  • Creates a memorable dining experience for all guests in the Lido Market and Dining Room by providing superior, personable service to all guests.
  • Works as a team to seamlessly execute all dining periods.
  • Is an absolute professional with a personable approach to serving our guests.
  • Attends all corner meetings and food tastings and is expected to learn the entire menu.
  • Provides service in the Pavilion on Half Moon Cay
  • Assists where directed by the onboard management

 

Guest Services:

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Has a positive attitude and works with a GUEST FIRST mentality at all times.
  • Provides personable service within his/her section by greeting and engaging with guests, refilling hot and cold beverages and maintaining a clean and organized section.
  • Work in the Dining room when escorting guests, resetting tables, bringing food to the steward stations.
  • Deliver In-room Dining order to the guests’ staterooms when the need arises.
  • Self-disciplined, show initiative and be an outgoing individual.
  • Pleasant, polite and have a neat appearance.
  • Possess good communication skills for dealing with guests and fellow crew members within a diverse environment.

 

Communication:

  • Is expected to speak English at a high level, and clearly communicate with guests at all times.
  • Speaks in English in public areas at all times.
  • Communicates all serves related issues with managers.
  • Takes ownership of guest issues and makes follow up when needed.
  • Engages in regular conversation with guests but avoids the topic related to politics and religion at all times.
  • Promote the onboard specialty restaurants, Entertainment shows, ports of call or any other events happening onboard.

 

Training:

  • Attend all required training session related to Health, Environmental, Safety & Security (HESS).
  • Attend all required training sessions related to the United States Public Health (USPH), at all times follow and comply with all Public Health rules and regulations.
  • Attends and actively participates in food tastings when scheduled in order to enhance the menu knowledge and being able to learn about the taste profiles.
  • Attends any training with the willingness of gaining the knowledge necessary to hold the position and maintain the service procedures.
  • Follows company service standard referred to in the dining services Every Times and DSOP’s.
  • Complies with all company policies, rules and regulations as outlined in the MR-1000 which is Holland America Line’s house rule document.

Qualifications

  • Certificate or diploma of a Hotel School or the international equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to speak read and write English clearly. Other languages besides English is a plus
  • All international applicants must have the ability to obtain a US C1/D visa (and other relevant visas) when applicable.
  • Ambitious and willing to commit to a long lasting career within the organization.
  • Superior customer service approach, positive attitude, hard worker, punctual and friendly.
  • Must meet all physical requirements, including the ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and its required trainings.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of Public Health procedures (USPH) or must be willing to learn all needed rules and regulations.
  • Must be between 21-35 years old. (Male and Female).
  • Pleasant, polite and have a neat appearance. No tattoos or facial hair
